Be Green At The Summer

As we all know, summer is just around the corner. Summer is a good time to start making changes in our lifestyle to live more eco friendly. In fact, we can reduce the impact on the environment if we do our daily activities with a little compassion ‘more for the environment. Let me share with you some ways how you can start your green lifestyle.

1. Hang clothes to dry. With the hot summer sun, the clothes dry faster when you hang out. There really is no excuse to use the dryer unless of course if you do not have a lawn or a balcony for hanging clothes. Moreover, there is nothing like the smell of fresh laundry hanging out in the open.

2. Do not be a pig of energy and reduce the use of air conditioning.During the summer, the weather can really be very humid, so many of us resort to the use of air conditioning all day. Instead of using an air conditioner, why not try to open the windows and let the air flow inside your home? Alternatively, you can also use ceiling fans and portable fans. It is not only energy efficient but also helps keep the house cool because it helps the flow of air. But if you must use air conditioning, keep the thermostat a few degrees and be sensitive to not abuse it.

3. Buy organic products. Summer is the perfect time to enjoy local, seasonal produce. Most cities set farmers’ markets during the summer months where you can buy fruits and vegetables. If you support these markets also help local farmers and reduce the transport of energy.

4. Putting a garage sale. Place everything in your home that is no longer used and throw a garage sale. Time to re-use of new green living in the three R’s – reduce, reuse, recycle.

5. Reduce car use. If you go somewhere nearby, consider walking or cycling instead. You get to enjoy the nice weather, save on gas and get your daily dose of exercise.

6. The use of solar charger. Take a solar charger and take it with you on your daily excursions. So if you’re at the beach, for example, will still be able to recharge your portable devices like mobile phones, even if you’re away from home.

There are many other ways you can do to live a lifestyle that respects the environment this summer. Starting small, can finally get used to these little habits that can reduce the impact on Mother Earth.
